Imaret is a place where history, architecture, and hospitality are seamlessly interwoven into an immersive experience. It began life over two centuries ago as a jewel of the Ottoman era, and today it is one of Europe’s most extraordinary retreats for those drawn to depth, beauty and the rare privilege of unhurried time. Imaret rises from the ancient lands of Thrace, once a province of the Roman Empire, in the undiscovered treasure that is north-west Greece.

For many years, Imaret operated as a conventional luxury hotel. But over time, it became clear that this approach was not in harmony with the building’s nature. Imaret is not simply a place to stay, it has its own rhythm, stillness, and rituals. Its atmosphere depends on space, silence, and sensitivity.

To truly experience it is to notice the hush beneath the domes, the sound of running water, the scent of orange blossoms, the breeze through its arcades. These subtleties vanish in excess. Reducing the number of suites to just eight was a bold decision made in order to preserve the building’s soul.
